Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Knives on Strings collects, what we do with it, and — more relevantly — what we don't do with it.
The Website
This website uses Google Analytics 4, loaded via Google Tag Manager, to collect anonymous usage data. This includes pages visited, approximate session duration, device type, and coarse geographic location (country/region level). No personally identifiable information is collected through Google Analytics.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. If you prefer not to be tracked, browser extensions such as Google Analytics Opt-out or any standard ad blocker will prevent this.
We do not run advertising, affiliate tracking, third-party tracking pixels, or any other analytics beyond the above.
Purchases
Our products are sold through Gumroad. When you make a purchase, your name, email address, and payment details are collected and processed by Gumroad, not by Knives on Strings. We receive notification of the sale and your email address in order to fulfil the purchase. We do not store your payment information.
Gumroad's handling of your data is governed by Gumroad's Privacy Policy.
Our Plugins
Our audio plugins optionally collect anonymous usage data to help us improve them. Collection is enabled by default and can be disabled at any time in the plugin's Settings panel. If you opt out, no data is sent.
What we collect: plugin version, format (VST3, CLAP, AU, AUv3, Standalone), platform (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, iPadOS), your DAW name and version, session information (sample rate, block size, session duration), and a randomly generated install identifier stored locally on your device. We do not collect your name, IP address, or any information that personally identifies you.
If you submit a bug report or feature request using the in-plugin issue reporter, we collect the information you provide. Your email address is optional and, if included, appears only in the submitted report — it is not stored in any database.

If you contact us by email, we retain only what you send in order to respond. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share your email with third parties.
We Will Never Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party, for any purpose, ever.
Your Rights
You have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at knivesonstrings@gmail.com.
Children
Our website and products are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. We will not retroactively change how we handle data already collected.

The short version: The website uses Google Analytics. Gumroad handles payments. Our plugins send anonymous usage stats (opt-out in Settings). We don't sell your data. We never will.
