LaterLens — Privacy Policy
Overview
LaterLens does not collect any personal data. Full stop. It doesn't track your browsing activity, doesn't phone home, doesn't know who you are, and doesn't care.
What Data Is Stored
LaterLens stores two things locally on your device using Chrome's storage.local API:
- A cached list of video metadata from your YouTube Watch Later playlist (titles, channel names, durations, and URLs)
- Your current sort preference
This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to any server — not ours, not Google's (beyond what YouTube already does), not anyone's.
How the Extension Works
LaterLens operates entirely client-side. It reads your Watch Later playlist directly from the YouTube page your browser has already loaded, then sorts and displays it locally. No external requests are made. No data is sent anywhere.
Permissions
LaterLens requests exactly two browser permissions:
- storage — to cache your video list and sort preference between sessions
- activeTab — to inject the LaterLens interface into the YouTube tab you're currently viewing
These are the minimum permissions required for the extension to function. Nothing broader is requested.
Third Parties
LaterLens uses no analytics, no advertising systems, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There are no SDKs embedded in the extension. There is nothing phoning home.
Removing Your Data
Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data. You can also clear the cached data at any time through Chrome's extension storage settings without uninstalling.
